Exodus 39,40

1 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.3 And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.4 They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.5 And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.6 And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.7 And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.8 And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.9 It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.10 And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.11 And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.12 And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.13 And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.14 And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.15 And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.16 And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.17 And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.18 And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.19 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.20 And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.21 And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.22 And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.23 And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.24 And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.27 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,28 And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,29 And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.31 And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.32 Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.33 And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,34 And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,35 The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,36 The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,37 The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,38 And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,39 The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,40 The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,41 The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.42 According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.43 And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.3 And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail.4 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.5 And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle.6 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.8 And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.10 And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.11 And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it.12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.23 And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.25 And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail:27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses.28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.30 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal.31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:32 When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses.33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Psalms 102

1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.12 But thou, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

1st Corinthians 10

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
