Exodus 27

1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.4 And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in the four corners thereof.5 And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass.7 And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.8 Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

Psalms 81,82

1 Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Mark 12

1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's.8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
